Four arrested after teacher shot in KZN

DURBAN - Four suspects have been arrested while three are still at large after a teacher was shot during a robbery at Buhlebethu Primary School, in Inanda, north of Durban.

The suspects, who are former pupils, posed as parents and were able to enter the premises.

They even asked if they could enroll a child.

The suspects demanded money and cellphones from teachers at gunpoint.

The principal was able to press the panic button and as the robbers were leaving, a teacher tried to apprehend them.

A scuffle broke out resulting in the teacher being shot and is in ICU.

The suspects are said to be between 19 and 21 years old and have been identified.

Education officials have visited the school to speak to the children and lessons have been suspended until Monday
