Fourth child dies following Hoërskool Driehoek walkway collapse

The father of one of the pupils who died when a walkway collapsed at Hoërskool Driehoek says he doesn't blame anyone for his son's passing.

VANDERBIJLPARK - A fourth child has died following the walkway collapse at Hoërskool Driehoek.

The boy has been identified as Marnus Nagel.

Nineteen children are still receiving treatment at various hospitals across Gauteng.

Rayden Olckers (17),13-year-old Marli Carli and 13-year-old Jandre Steyn all died on the scene.

The injuries of some of the survivors are so serious, they may have limbs amputated.

Teaching and learning have been halted for now while pupils, parents and school officials receive trauma counselling.

An inquest docket has been opened while the department of labour probes the integrity of the school's structure.
