Fransman sexual harassment charges withdrawn

CAPE TOWN - The sexual assault and crimen injuria charges against former ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransman have been withdrawn.

Fransman was accused of inappropriately touching his personal assistant, Louisa Wynand in 2016.

The incident took place while they were travelling to the ANC's birthday celebrations in the North West.

Wynand's spokesperson has confirmed that both parties were in a Kimberley court on Wednesday, but declined to comment further.

He has asked that her privacy be respected.

Fransman was later found guilty by the ANC's disciplinary committee and suspended from the party.
