Funeral sector threatens to strike

JOHANNESBURG - Over 3,000 funeral industry employees are expected to down tools from Monday.

They have vowed not to collect corpses after the government failed to respond to their demands.

Funeral parlour directors are demanding the outsourcing of mortuary facilities to be recognised and legalised.

They also want the amendment of by-laws by municipalities to enable cluster storages.
