ANC Gauteng elective conference to begin on Thursday

JOHANNESBURG - The 14th Provincial Conference of the ANC in Gauteng is set to kick off from Thursday until Sunday.

This amid a dark cloud surrounding the Ekurhuleni Regional Conference, which had 19 quarantined votes as well as seven disputes that are still outstanding in the province.

Given the state of readiness briefing earlier, the current provincial leadership says the elective conference will focus more on the state of the economy and the performance of the provincial government.

"We have taken a decision as the leadership to start the conference much different than we used to do," said ANC Gauteng secretary Jacob Khawe.

"We will be delegating a day, Thursday the 23rd, for registrations and collection of accreditation.”
