Over 1 million COVID-19 jabs administered in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng has administered over 1 million COVID-19 vaccines.

The province's Health MEC Nomathemba Mokgethi says the numbers are fast approaching the 2 million mark.

This weekend alone, more than 5,400 vaccines were administered in four health districts, including Tshwane and Johannesburg.

The province has increased weekend public vaccination sites from four to 17 sites.

Mokgethi has commended the vaccination teams and various sectors for embracing the vaccination drive as a national responsibility.

She has urged all those eligible to get vaccinated.

Gauteng vaccination sites accept walk-ins even when you're not registered on the EVDS.
