Gauteng Education visits Soweto teen's family after school stabbing

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education officials have visited the home of the teen pupil who was stabbed to death at a school in Pimville, Soweto.

The teen boy allegedly stabbed his schoolmate during break time on Thursday.

He was trying to defend his younger brother who was allegedly being bullied.

The department had deployed officials at the Thaba-Jabula Secondary School to provide counselling to pupils and staff.

The teen has since been arrested.

The government has reiterated calls for parents and pupils to report incidents of bullying.
