The Gautrain Management Agency says weekday ridership has fallen to about 14 percent due to COVID-19.
JOHANNESBURG - Gautrain has announced it will be reducing its train service intervals.
Trains will be available every 12-minutes during weekday peak periods and every 24-minutes in off-peak periods.

On weekends and public holidays, trains will be available every 30 minutes throughout the day.
The Gautrain Management Agency says weekday ridership has fallen to about 14% due to COVID-19.
The service was shut alongside other forms of public transport when South Africa went into hard lockdown.
It was however allowed to operate again under Level 4.
