JOHANNESBURG - The Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba will take legal action against former radio host Redi Tlhabi.
“The Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, has instructed attorneys to institute legal action against Ms Redi Tlhabi for defamation of character,” Gigaba's office said in a media statement.
The legal action follows the Twitter twar between the two.
UPDATE: Gigaba gives Tlhabi an ultimatum
On Tuesday, Tlhabi tweeted about the minister's decision to change visa regulations, indicating this was based on personal circumstances.
She called Gigaba arrogant and divisive.
Gigaba had give Tlhabi an ultimatum to apologise by 5pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Tlhabi said on Twitter that she had not received the summons.
