JOHANNESBURG - Former Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan has filed court papers slamming Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's report.
The Public Protector found that Gordhan broke the rules when serving as SARS commissioner.
All of this, linked to an early retirement package for former executive, Ivan Pillay.
Gordhan's lawyers are now asking a court to review and set aside the report.
In a statement, Gordhan's legal team stated the report should be declared, "unconstitutional, unlawful, irrational and invalid, the Public Protector’s Report No 24 of 2019/20, including the findings and her proposed remedial action."
They asked that the court declare the Public Protector failed to comply with her duties and grant a personal cost order against Mkhwebane.
