Govt asked to intervene against 'construction mafia'

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Forum of Civil Engineering Contractors is appealing for government help against the so-called construction mafia. 

The forum says armed gangs have disrupted and halted at least 78 projects around the country.

Their modus operandi is to threaten site workers and demand a stake in the project they're completing.
