Western Cape Community Safety Committee Chairperson, Reagan Allen, said the deployment of the SANDF alone was never going to solve the problem.

A police officer was gunned down by four men in his home last week.
It's believed the killing is gang-related.
"The SANDF was not going to be a silver bullet," said Allen.
He stated the need for improved crime intelligence and an improvement in the societal approach to gun violence and gangsterism.
