Gungubele: Emfuleni issues are being addressed

EMFULENI - Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele says national government can't resolve the issues in the Emfuleni Municipality alone.

Gungubele says it will take a combined effort from all spheres of government.

The troubled municipality is currently under administration.

It's been experiencing cash and service delivery issues but Gungubele says some positive inroads are being made.

Gungubele is in the Vaal ahead of the Presidential Imbizo on Friday.

"For instance the long issue of Vaal sewer system, now we can say contractors are in there and have shown us where there used to be sewer leaking all over the place, that has dramatically gone down, not completely, but its a development in the positive direction," he said.

"You've seen potholes, Minister Mbalula you've seen is going all over the country to focus on roads to ensure that they're functioning and between Minister Mbalula and the local authority they will find a way that what they're doing gives us good roads and so on."
