JOHANNESBURG - HHP's customary wife and well-known publicist Lerato Sengadi is taking her father-in-law to court in a bid to stop the star's funeral from taking place this weekend.
She filed an interdict, claiming that Robert Tsambo is refusing to tell her where her husband's body is, nor is she allowed to be involved in funeral arrangements.
"As Jabba's lawful customary wife, it is my right to make the necessary funeral arrangements for his burial and to play an integral part in all of the actions and proceedings in relation thereto.
"I have been deprived of this right. I have simply and without cause, been prevented by the respondent from fulfilling my role as customary wife."
Sengadi also wants the family to hand over all goods belonging to HHP, including hard drives taken from his studio and property.
The funeral's scheduled to take place in Mahikeng on Saturday.
The Motswako artist died at his home last month after battling depression for years.
In court papers, Sengadi confirms that he took his life.
She also reveals that his depression was exacerbated by his addiction to cocaine and CAT.
Sengadi says she "desperately wanted Jabba to obtain professional help, not only for his depression but also his drug addiction," but he refused to be admitted to any medical facilities.
