Tiring queues at Home Affairs are a long-time complaint. But the department says it will implement interventions.
CAPE TOWN - It's not something anyone looks forward to - queueing for hours at Home Affairs.
Home Affairs officials have told Parliament its plans include longer operating hours and developing a monitoring tool to measure the average waiting time.
Some members of the portfolio committee have called on cabinet to intervene urgently in the day-to-day running of Home Affairs offices around the country.
They also want additional funding to be approved in order to employ more workers.
