Hong Kong protesters set fire to Chinese flag

File: Mass protests erupted in June in Hong Kong over an extradition bill that would have allowed individuals to be sent for trial to the mainland, where justice is controlled by the Communist Party.



JOHANNESBURG - Protests have continued for another day in Hong Kong.

Several hundred demonstrators have gathered in a mall where they trampled and set fire to the Chinese national flag.

China will be celebrating its 70th anniversary next month.

Hong Kong joined China in 1997 in an agreement made with the British government.
