IEC to determine impact of double voting on election

JOHANNESBURG - The IEC is conducting an audit to determine the impact double voting has had on the election results.

Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo says it's an assurance measure.

He was speaking at a briefing in Pretoria this afternoon.

The IEC has has confirmed that twenty people have been arrested for double voting in KwaZulu-Natal.

This follows allegations of voters who have attempted or apparently been able to remove the indelible ink on their thumbs.

The people arrested in KwaZulu-Natal are from Dan Houser, Port Shepstone and Hluhluwe.
