IEC: There's still time to register on voters roll

JOHANNESBURG - South Africans can still visit the Independent Electoral Commission's offices if they want to participate in the upcoming polls. 

The IEC says people can get their names on the voters roll, up until the president announces the election date.

Sunday was the deadline for voter registration.

The registration process in some parts of country, including KwaZulu-Natal, has been rocked by service delivery protests and heavy rains.

A community hall in Burlington in Durban was petrol bombed, leaving voters in limbo.

The IEC had to put up a makeshift tent to accommodate those registering or verifying their details.​
