CAPE TOWN - DA leader Mmusi Maimane says he has proof that president Cyril Ramaphosa's son Andile received payment from the controversial company Bosasa.
Maimane revealed proof of payment that shows money paid into a trust for Ramaphosa's son Andile, during questions around the looting of VBS Mutual Bank.
He says he also has an affidavit from a Bosasa executive who says he was told to make this payment to Andile Ramaphosa.
In response, the president said, "I have told my children they should not do any business with SOEs but I do know, from time to time, some of these activities can surface."
"The filter I apply as their father is, if there is any illegality, I will take them to jail".
He further clarified that the question was not related to VBS Bank, but to Bosasa for whom his son had done financial consultancy work.
Bosasa has been embroiled in controversies in the past when Deputy Justice and Correctional Services Minister Thabang Makwetla confirmed the company installed security features at his house, for free.
Another ANC MP Vincent Smith denied receiving more than R500, 000 from the same company.
