JOHANNESBURG - A City Power operation to remove illegal connections in Alexandra, Johannesburg, has turned deadly.
One person has died and the power utility had to withdraw following protests by residents.
The community is unhappy their electricity was cut without being given an alternative.
City Power claims that it loses up to R2-billion a year to illegal connections and insists they need to be cut.
