SA motorists suffer over illegal tyre influx

JOHANNESBURG - Almost two-thirds of all tyres sold in South Africa are illegal.

Motorists who use these re-grooved sub-standard tyres are not only risking their own lives but also those of other road users.

Automobile Association spokesperson Layton Beard says these are extremely worrying statistics.

"When you are driving a vehicle when the tyres are not in good condition, you are literally playing with your life and the lives of others on the road."
