JOHANNESBURG - The IEC says an independent audit is not part of legislative requirement.
This after smaller parties gave the IEC an ultimatum to appoint an independent audit firm to review the election results.
Their demands were contained in a letter sent to the electoral commission on Friday.
The parties have also threatened to interdict the IEC from declaring the final outcome of the election.
The Statistician-General will present the results of the sample audit at midday.
