JOHANNESBURG - Eskom is continuing with rotational load-shedding countrywide.

The power utility announced that load-shedding is being conducted rationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system from a total collapse or blackout.

LOAD-SHEDDING: Schedules, info, and how it affects you

In the case of a complete blackout, it would take Eskom two weeks to fully restore power nationally.

From information about the difference between a power outage and load-shedding to explanations about what load-shedding is, the power utility is using the power of social media to keep consumers informed about what to expect.

Eskom is urging consumers to check their website for the full load-shedding schedule in their area.
