Ipid monitoring Eldorado Park situation after teen killed

JOHANNESBURG - Police watchdog Ipid is hoping to produce a preliminary report on the alleged involvement of police in the killing of a teenager in Eldorado Park.

Residents are demanding justice for 16-year old Nathaniel Julius who died in hospital on Wednesday night.

Ipid spokesperson Ndileka Cola confirms an Ipid team is monitoring the situation on the ground.

"Our investigators are on-site to establish what transpired in this particular incident."

"As you have indicated, the situation is quite volatile. They don't have anything at this particular time that is tangible in terms of what has happened, according to our investigations," said Cola.

The family of the deceased has also accused the police of covering up the atrocity.
