JOHANNESBURG - Advocate Nomgcobo Jiba’s decision to charge former KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Johan Booysen was rational.

That's what her legal team is arguing at the Mokgoro Inquiry into her fitness to hold office.

Jiba was charged with perjury after it was found she lied in court about there being evidence against Booysen.

Her advocate, Thabani Masuku was cross-examining prosecutor Jan Ferreira.

He had pursued fraud and perjury charges against the deputy prosecutions boss.

Ferreira made a compelling case for how both Jiba and Special Director of Public Prosecutions Lawrence Mrwebi aren't fit to serve in their positions.

The inquiry will resume on Monday at 10 am.
