JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Policing Union of South Africa is not impressed with the testimonies of the Police Minister and Police Commissioner on the July unrest.
The frosty relationship between Minister Bheki Cele and Commissioner Khehla Sitole was evident at the hearings into the unrest.
Police Minister Bheki Cele has admitted law enforcement officials could have handled the July unrest better. People claim the police were not visible in some of the areas affected by looting. Cele remarked that Sitole was not in the right places during the violence.
But Sitole insisted it wasn't always necessary to send reports to Cele.
