POLOKWANE - Police in Polokwane are investigating an alleged mob killing of a 27-year-old man, sparking the #Justiceforthoriso on Twittter.
Thoriso Themane's body was found dumped in Flora Park on Sunday.
According to Col Moatshe Ngoepe initial investigations reveal that Themane was attacked by a group of mostly teenagers in the area.
“The victim was taken to hospital but certified dead on arrival. The police were summoned and started with the initial investigations which revealed that the victim was assaulted by a group of people in the area and one person is currently taken in for questioning", said Ngoepe.
A pupil from a local school has allegedly been identified as one of the people involved in the attack.
Police say one teenager has been arrested so far.
Videos circulating on social media show Themane being kicked in the face while another one shows him being carried while bleeding.
Police say the motive for the attack is unknown at this stage.
