KAGISO - Kagiso residents have vowed to clamp down on illegal mining.
Hundreds of angry residents took to the streets to root out illegal miners.
Some of the residents are breaking into the homes of alleged foreign nationals.
The residents have been seen beating naked men believed to be zama zamas.
Police say they have rescued 19 people from angry Kagiso residents.
The rescued people are illegal miners who have been processed at the police station.
Provincial Commisioner Elias Mawela, Major General Khumalo and Major General Mthombeni are on the ground in #KagisoShutDown.
