JOHANNESBURG - Senior church leaders say it's too early to speculate on the soundness of the building structure.
Thirteen congregants perished when the wall of a church in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal collapsed on them during evening prayers before the Easter long weekend.
Senior church member Mildred Oliphant says a report detailing what really happened to the building structure might be released next week.
"Wait until the investigation has been finalised, that's when they will get a proper report, and I do believe that at least by the end of next week we will know what is it that happened," she said.
Congregants had been sleeping inside the hall when the side wall structure collapsed following heavy rainfall.
Some of the injured remain critical in hospital.
