The KZN Health Department's Sandile Tshabalala said the department is aware of the incident.

"Because of COVID, what we have done in our institutions was to come up with temporary structures. These temporary structures we want to use to try to triage patients before they come in to ensure the social distancing that is supposed to be there between patients -- people who are sick from other things and people who have got COVID."

Tshabalala said the department is looking into the details of the man's death.
