CAPE TOWN - The Constitutional Amendment to allow for land expropriation without compensation has failed on Tuesday.
Three years ago, the National Assembly adopted a report recommending the Constitution be changed.
The final step in that process required at least 75 percent of Parliament to agree. Any amendment requires a two-thirds majority.
A number of opposition parties stated, leading up to the motion, that they would not support it.
