LIMPOPO - Thousands of people from Botlokwa in Limpopo have taken to the streets over water cuts.

The community said the municipality shut off the water supply to around 25,000 people.

Despite a meeting to address concerns over the weekend, taps in the area are still dry.

Residents of the area have explained parts of the municipality have been without running water for over three years.

They stated water tankards have been dispatched to the community, but the residents say these are irregular visits.

The community has threatened to occupy the national route between South Africa and the Beitbridge border post if their concerns are not addressed.
