JOHANNESBURG - The Limpopo Health Department is cancelling the contracts of over 150 community service doctors.
A further 450 nurses and other affiliated workers will also lose their jobs.
The province says it's terminating contracts due to financial pressure.
Limpopo Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba said the department is also looking at other ways to free up money.
Ramathuba said the retrenchments do not make sense and would be suggesting they look at overtime systems, amongst other cost-cutting measures.
