Limpopo prison official contracts coronavirus

JOHANNESBURG - An official from the Kutama Sinthumule Correctional Centre in Limpopo has contracted COVID-19.

The prison in Louis Trichardt has about 600 employees and more than 3,000 inmates.

Some workers, who wish to remain anonymous, have told eNCA their management told them there was no money for masks and gloves.

According to the Correctional Services Department, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases at its facilities has increased to 94.
