Limpopo pupils in fight with ‘pangas’

JOHANNESBURG – A video footage of pupils in school uniform, fighting with what appears to be ‘pangas’, is doing the rounds on social media.

In the video‚ a large group of pupils, some swinging large metal objects, are seen running across a dusty field.

There is a sense of danger as some students violently attempt to harm another before the rest of the horde suddenly begin screaming and shouting as they run off further across the field.

Provincial Education Department spokesperson Sam Makondo told eNCA.com that the fight took place outside a school in Limpopo.

“The community informed us that there was a fight outside the school. One of the kids was hurt in the head.”

"We are still in the process of gathering information about the incident," said Makondo.

Meanwhile TimesLive reports that nine pupils have been suspended following the incident.
