Listeriosis still prevalent in some food: study

JOHANNESBURG - An independent study by the University of Pretoria’s food safety research group has revealed the listeriosis bacteria is still prevalent in some foods.

The study says the bacteria has also been found in other food products, that were not identified during the initial outbreak.

More than 180 people died since October last year after eating meat products contaminated with the bacteria.

The outbreak was officially declared over last month.
