JOHANNESBURG - Amcu Boss Joseph Mathunjwa has denied his party is non-compliant with labour department legislation.
He was responding to a notice of intent from the Labour Registrar to cancel the union's registration.
The registrar, Lehlohonolo Molefe says Amcu no longer functions in terms of its own constitution and “is not a genuine trade union as envisaged in the Act”.
Mathunjwa has rubbished question marks about their constitution, audited finances and elective conferences.
“Amcu has integrated new structures and offices in the country....Amcu remains in total compliance of the labour relations act. Our finances are well managed and we submit audited finances every year...books in order...no financial issues....have a national congress every year.”
