The EFF is holding a media briefing ahead of its December conference. There's much to talk about - with rumours of leadership battles and some senior leaders reportedly facing the chop.

JOHANNESBURG – Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema and fellow senior party officials will address the media on Thursday afternoon at the Nasrec Expo Centre, south of Johannesburg.

The briefing happens a day after Malema and party spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi made their first appearance in an alleged assault case.

The EFF is likely to talk about their December conference and preparations leading up to the event.

The City of Johannesburg will have a vacancy in the mayor's office next week, the EFF has voted with the Democratic Alliance in council since 2016.

The party were kingmakers in getting outgoing mayor Herman Mashaba elected into office.

The EFF is expected to shed light on their position in the council after Mashaba's departure.
