Former Gauteng MEC for Health Brian Hlongwa is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate court today along with 8 others. The group faces a range of charges of more than 200 fraud, corruption, money laundering, and racketeering.
JOHANNESBURG - Former Gauteng Health MEC Brian Hlongwa is appearing in court on fraud and corruption charges.
It’s alleged that he and eight others illegally awarded a controversial tender dating back to 2007.

The former MEC also allegedly received kickbacks, including a R7-million house for facilitating the contract.
They all face more than 200 charges, including fraud, corruption, money laundering and racketeering.
