The IEC makes the final result announcement at the ROC in Pretoria at 6PM. More than 30 parties have this week questioned the free and fairness of the results- calling for an independent audit of all the election results.
JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced the final results for the Election 2019 on Saturday evening.
The announcement was made at the National Results Operations Centre (ROC) in Pretoria.
IEC Chairperson Glen Mashinini declared the election free and fair.
“We can do this because the people of South Africa continue to believe in our democracy and the freedom of choice. 25 years on we can say we remain rooted on the ideals of democracy and human rights for all,” he said.

Several smaller parties, however, have threatened to take legal action if their grievances were not met.
IEC CEO Sy Mamabolo said an audit is not part of the legislative requirement for the commission.
They say the election wasn’t free or fair and they're citing a number of irregularities.
