PIETERMARITZBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma's lawyers and co-accused French Arms firm, Thales, will continue their fight for a permanent stay of prosecution in their corruption case on Thursday.

The state's expected to argue against their application.

Zuma returned to court this week with a new legal team.

The former president is facing numerous charges, including racketeering, money laundering and corruption.

The charges relate to payments he allegedly received as a bribe to protect arms company Thales from an investigation into the controversial multibillion-rand arms deal.

Zuma has previously dismissed the claims against him as propaganda.
