JOHANNESBURG - Local artists have been promised their COVID-19 relief fund payments will be paid on Friday.
A group of disgruntled performers blocked the exit of the Gauteng Arts and Culture Department in downtown Johannesburg on Thursday.
They were demanding answers on relief funds.
The situation was resolved after a meeting between the artists and officials.
Another round of meetings will be held next week.
The department has earmarked approximately R28-million to fund artists.
