JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says some regulations will be eased as the lockdown continues.
She was speaking at the National Command Council briefing on updated regulations of the national lockdown.
Government eased some regulations for international call centres, major ports, electricians and plumbers.
Dlamini-Zuma said the government will ease regulations on a weekly basis.
She said some regulations will remain in place for a long time.
“Even if it ends [lockdown] on the 30th April, you can't just open the floodgates. It has to happen in an orderly way...Some will remain in place for a long time,” said Dlamini-Zuma.
There are 34 confirmed coronavirus deaths in South Africa.
