The long road to recovery for Driehoek pupils

Nicola Senekal has been spending most of her time with her daughter who is still recovering from her injuries caused by the Driehoek walkway collapse.

ALBERTON - It has been one month, to the day, since four pupils at Hoërskool Driehoek died and over 20 others were seriously injured after the school cement walkway collapsed.

Some of these pupils are still hospitalised.

13-year-old Cheverné Senekal ended up in intensive care with multiple broken bones and serious internal injuries and her life is forever altered.

Senekal said there has been an improvement in Cheverné's situation.

Cheverné is looking at another two months in the hospital and a number of surgeries.

Her mother is not angry but still feels someone needs to be held accountable.
