Maile cautions ANC members to stop speaking as free agents

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Cooperative Governance MEC, Lebogang Maile, is warning ANC members against making statements contradicting the party's stance.

Ekhurhuleni Mayor, Mzwandile Masina, has come out in defence of Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

“I want to caution all our comrades to desist from contradicting policy positions of the ANC and from speaking as free agents because  we don't have free agents in the ANC."

Maile is also demanding action be taken against officials implicated in the VBS scandal.

He has written formal letters to the mayors of West Rand Municipality and Merafong City.

A provincial government forensic investigation found a number of officials were involved in unlawfully investing in the bank.

Over R650-million was siphoned off.
