File: Mmusi Maimane has resigned from the Democratic Alliance citing a consistent and coordinated attempt to undermine his leadership.
JOHANNESBURG - Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane is in the clear.
The DA's financial committee has cleared Maimane of any wrongdoing.
Maimane found himself in a sticky situation as news came out of the Steinhoff-sponsored car he used and the Cape Town house he is currently renting.
In a statement, DA finance chairperson and MP Dion George said it was Maimane who had referred the matter to the finance committee for investigation after numerous anonymous leaks.
