Mandela funeral fraud case postponed

JOHANNESBURG - The fraud and corruption case against former Eastern Cape Health MEC Sindiswa Gomba and others has been postponed to 28 July.

Gomba and her co-accused are facing fraud, corruption, money laundering and contravention of the municipal finance management act.

This is in connection with alleged theft during arrangements for the funeral of former President Nelson Mandela in 2013.

The alleged fraud amounts to R10-million that was embezzled from the Buffalo City municipality.
