JOHANNESBURG - Former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel has slammed the EFF for accusing him of nepotism following the appointment of a new SARS boss.
Manuel is threatening to take legal action against the red berets after they accused him of recommending Edward Kieswetter as SARS commissioner because they are in business together.
The EFF also says Manuel and Kieswetter are relatives.
Manuel says these claims are untrue, racist and libellous.
Manuel chaired the interview panel which recommended that Kieswetter take over as SARS boss.
He's asking the EFF to retract its statement or face legal action.
The EFF is also seeking legal action to have Kiewwetter’s appointment reversed.
