JOHANNESBURG -The South African Policing Union (Sapu) feels disappointed and embarrassed about the parade at the funeral of Richard Maponya.
The unco-ordinated salutes drew ridicule on social media.
“South Africans should be worried about the status of policing in our country,” said Sapu president Mpho Kwinika.
“We have also called for the judicial commission of inquiry so that it be the one that advises the president on ills that are inhabiting policing to do its professional work.”
Maponya was laid to rest on Tuesday.
