Mboweni accepts Saftu memorandum

JOHANNESBURG - Finance Minister Tito Mboweni accepted a memorandum from The South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu).

Saftu members marched to Parliament on Wednesday ahead of Mboweni's maiden budget speech.

South Africans the minister will focus on job creation and unemployment.

Stats SA announced that the nation's unemployment rate decreased slightly to 27,1 percent at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018.

The unemployment rate at the end of the third quarter of 2018 was 27.5 percent, meaning the rate has decreased by 0.4 of a percentage point.
